Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be: ( L, D – 240km ) Home-stay
Our guide will come and pick you up at 8 am to start the northern Vietnam motorbike tour. Following the sealed road, back-road to Ba Be, we will have an easy ride in the morning. Our motorbike crew will stop for lunch in Cho Chu town, Thai Nguyen.
In the afternoon, the views are more fantastic with less traffic and many mountains appear in your sight.
We arrive in Pac Ngoi, a beautiful local village of Thai people at about 4:00pm. Our motorbike crew to the North will have an overnight here in the homestay of local people.
“Ba Be lake in Vietnamese means “three lakes” in the dialect of the indigenous people. This lake is situated in Nam Mau commune, Bac Kan district, Bac Kan province, a province in the north of the country.
This lake has been formed for roughly 200 million years, with many limestone mountains and cliffs surrounding, creating the largest natural lake in Vietnam. It is devided into 3 zones, named Pe Lam, Pe Lu and Pe Leng. The main flow of this lake includes 3 rivers, alternatively Nang, Ta Han and Nam Cuong. The Nang river flows into the lake and create a huge waterfall called Dau Dang. Moreover, there are 3 main islands in the lake, named An Ma, Khau Cum and Po Gia Mai (widow’s island)
This lake is the core part of Ba Be national park with the high biodiversity of fauna and flora, combing with the special geographic structure, making it become the ideal destination for tourist to come”
Day 2: Babe Lake – Meo Vac: ( B, L, D- 170 km ) Hotel
After seeing off the local host, north Vietnam motorbike team keeps riding on the off-roads through peaceful villages and forested hills. We also get through some streams. This day will be a really stunning motorcycle trip in North Vietnam with many beautiful landscapes.
After having lunch in Bao Lac town, our motorcycle crew continues to reach Meo Vac, through the winding trails and snacking passes, where you can take a look down to the Nho Que river.
We come to Meo Vac at about 5:00pm and we will have one relaxing night in this quiet town before starting a new route with northern Vietnam motorbike tour.
“Meo Vac is located in Dong Van rock plateau, the famous place in Ha Giang which was considered as the World Geopark by UNESCO in 2009. Coming here, you can see the masterpieces of rock, being formed after million years. For that reason, many motorcyclists ride to here to see the beauty of nature of that far-away place”
Day 3: Meo Vac – Ha Giang: ( B, L, D- 180 Km ) Hotel
The route today promises to be the best part of northern Vietnam motorbike tour when we ride from Meo Vac to Ha Giang. We will pass many rustic villages of hill tribes as well as terraced paddy fields. Our motorbike crew will pass the Ma Pi Leng pass- one of the longest and most beautiful passes in the north of Vietnam. There are many attractions waiting for our motorbike tour: Rock Plateau, the Vuong palace in Dong Van, the “Heaven Gate” in Quan Ba. This is no doubt the best part of northern Vietnam motorbike tour.
We will arrive in Ha Giang in late afternoon and have one night here. It ends the 3rd day of north Vietnam motorbike tour.
“Ha Giang, 300 km away from Hanoi, located at the highest latitude in Vietnam. It is surrounded by Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai. This province is the home of many ethnic minorities such as H’mong, Tay, Nung, Dao..”
Day 4: Vietnam Motorbike Tour Ha Giang – Sa Pa: ( B, L, D – 240km )
From Ha Giang, northern Vietnam motorbike tour will follow the off roads to head to Sapa, where you can see the massive Fanispan mountain. The route today will offer you many wonderful landscapes and colorful local life of indigenous people.
We can take a stop near Chinese border in Lao Cai, try a cup of coffee to stay awake and then keep riding up to 1600m high above the sea level. You will be stunned by the nature and it is the highlight of northern Vietnam motorbike tour.
We reach Sapa at around 5:00pm. It is the end of the 4th day with motorcycle tour in north Vietnam.
Day 5: Sapa – Than Uyen: ( B, L, D – 120 km ) Hotel
You have a free morning to explore the low space of this romantic and picturesque town before keep going on the journey at 1:30pm.
The motorcycle ride from Sapa to Than Uyen, our motorbike crew can have some stop to sightsee the glorious views of valley from the the high passes.
We will cross to Lai Chau province after passing the O Quy Ho pass. This route from Sapa to Lai Chau could be the best of the whole motorcycle ride in the north of Vietnam with fantastic views of massive and marvelous mountain, running to the horizon.
We arrive in Than Uyen by 5:00pm and enjoy the 5th night in this town.
Day 6: Than Uyen –Phu Yen ( B, L, D- 240 km ) Hotel
After many up-and-down trails, we continue northern Vietnam motorcycle trip through the tribe villages of H’mong ethnic group, and then cross by mountainous green tea farms. It is followed by the route through the valley to see the splendid views of terraced paddy fields with the bright golden yellow color of rice.
After lunch in Mu Cang Chai, you are supposed to observe the spot light of northern Vietnam motorbike tour in Mu Cang Chai with the vast and massive terraced fields, creating the wonder of nature.
We reach the Phu Yen town at 5:00pm. It is a long day but really delightful for every motorcyclist. Enjoy your 6th night in this peaceful town.
Day 7: Phu Yen – Mai Chau Valley: ( B, L, D – 170 km ) Home-stay
The tour today is not long so it will be full of enjoy and excitements for northern Vietnam motorcycle trip. After getting out of Phu Yen town, you can have the wonderful moments to ride along Da River lake, with the winding roads and less traffic. You will have the feeling like riding motorbike along the coastline motorbike tours in Central Vietnam.
After crossing Da river by ferry, our motorbike crew will head up to Moc Chau plateau for lunch. Then, we will take turn to the Hua Tat road- a quiet old road built by French. Nowadays, it is an ideal road to Mai Chau and the sceneries on the way are really spectacular!
We arrive in Mai Chau at about 4:30 pm. We will stay in the traditional house on stilt of Thai people. You can feel the hospitable and friendly attitude of the local Thai people here for the foreign guests.
Day 8: Mai Chau – Na Meo: ( B, L – 150km )
For the last day of motorbike tour North Vietnam, we will ride from Mai Chau to near Laos Border, called Na Meo border. Just follow the 60km of small route with spectacular views on 2 sides along the Ma River.
Our motorbike riding team will arrive at Na Meo by 1:00 pm and ends the 8-day Vietnam motorbike tour.
